Data Engineering Lead · Farmers Insurance, via Capgemini

Eugenio González

I lead data engineering for a US insurer, and I build the agent tooling I use to do it.

The arc2018 → today

I started out designing door seals for the BMW X5 in Munich. Six years of data engineering later, across an insurer, an automotive marketplace and consumer goods, the job has kept the same shape: land inside a business you do not know yet, work out what it actually measures, and ship something that survives contact with it. The industry has started calling that forward deployed. Lately I have been rebuilding how I do it, with agents.

KPMG US project

Data Engineer Associate

  • Built ETL pipelines with Informatica Cloud Integration Hub, landing data into Azure SQL and Azure Data Lakes.
  • Moved Azure resource provisioning onto Terraform.
  • Automated the QA process with Azure Pipelines, cutting manual checks by 75%.

2020—22Wiseathena
Consumer goods

Data Processing Engineer

  • Worked directly with clients to catch data integrity problems early, before they reached the models.
  • Cleaned and reshaped S3 data in Python so the science team could trust what it was given.
  • Ran R and Prefect pipelines so data scientists could stay on modelling.

2019Tec de Monterrey

Lab Instructor, Computer Aided Design

  • Taught SolidWorks, Creo and Siemens NX to engineering students.

2019John Deere

Product Engineering Intern

  • Designed structural components for loaders under design-for-manufacturing constraints.

A Mac mini at home runs my own projects and watches itself. This panel reads its published summary, which is aggregate by design.

The endpoint is not live yet, so there is nothing to report. This panel shows what the machine says, or says that it has not said anything. It does not fill the gap with a number.

The interesting states are the other four. A panel that can only show green is decoration.

WritingSep 2026

Agent instructions are code, and they rot

I kept nineteen instruction files in sync across three repositories by copying them. When I counted, one existed in two versions nobody had chosen and my oldest repository had eleven of twenty-two. Neither was a decision.
